Batu Bulan

Mostly known because of its stone carvings as if main craft, from the start of the main road on the way to Ubud is lined with outlets for stone sculptures.

The stone used for these sculptures is a porous grey volcanic rock called paras, which resembles pumice; it's soft and surprisingly light. It also ages quickly, so that 'ancient' work may be years rather than centuries old.

Aside from stone carvings, Batubulan is also knwon as the centre for making 'antiques', textiles and woodwork, and has numerous craft shops.

The attractiveness of these tourism objects are all sourced from the diversity and quality of art potential owned by the villagers such as dances, Kerawitan, sculpture and literature. In addition to the development of touristic art, there are also the living entertainments and sacred art in this countryside.

Celuk

Hundreds of silversmiths and goldsmiths work in their homes in this small village of Celuk, most of these artisans are from what is known as the pande families, members of a sub-caste of blacksmiths whose knowledge of fire and metal.

Nowadays Celuk is known as the silver and gold centre of Bali, numbers of workshop and galleries lining up on the road side, from big flashy showrooms to a small workshops can be found here to gives you a range of variety to choose.

The gold and silver items crafted here are of high quality and feature unique and elaborate designs as the craftsmen are known for their skills and their industriousness.

As a tourism destination, Celuk welcomes visitors by the day who come to see the elaborate designing and production processes up close and witness a work of art in the making. Also, produce can be purchased directly here.

Mas

Fundamentally identified as one of an artistic of villages in Bali countryside by focusing in artistic of wood carving. Mas Village is located in Ubud sub district and Gianyar Regency, east part of Bali.

the craftmen its owns distinctive style of wood carving art by believing in the synergy of humanism and naturalism. The village´s popularity as an art village is famous in the national and world level which is not forgetting from the highness name of some maestros which has borne and found the spirit (taksu) and soul.

Tegalalang

The Tegallalang Rice Terraces in Ubud are famous for its beautiful scenes of rice paddies involving the subak (traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system) dated back since the eighth century.

Tegallalang forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud's shared region, Tegallalang rice terraces offer a perfect Bali photo opportunity with its dramatic views.

This ancient valley has a timeless quality whether there are tourists or not.

Ubud Tradtional Art Market

Ubud Traditionl Art Market is locally referred to as 'Pasar Seni Ubud' is located opposite the Puri Saren Royal Palace Ubud and is open daily. Ubud Art Market is the best art market in Bali, where you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats; statues, kites and many other hand-crafted goods.

 The location of the Ubud Traditional Art Market which is centred among the art producing villages, and being just opposite the royal palace which is a centre point to Ubud itself, make it a strategic shopping place for Balinese handicrafts and souvenirs.
