Goa Lawah (Bat Cave Temple)

Pura Goa Lawah is considered the most sacred temple in Bali. It is situated in the Pesinggahan village, District of Dawan, Klungkung regency, approximately 49 kilometers from Denpasar. This temple is located on the left side of the road to Padang Bai, or several miles before entering the area of Karangasem.

This temple is called Pura Goa Lawah because it is a large natural cave that is inhabited by thousands of bats. In the Balinese language, the word Lawah means bats. But in terms of religion, the existence of a bat thas nothing to do with what is revered Hindu community in Bali.

Opposite the temple is a beautiful beach with black sand along the bali coastal area.

Tenganan

You will step back in several centuries with a visit to Tenganan, home of the Bali Aga people – the descendants of the original Balinese who inhabited Bali before the Majapahit arrival in the 11th century. A visit here is one of Bali's most unusual, authentic and cultural outings

The village is surrounded by a wall, and consists basically of two rows of identical houses stretching up the gentle slope of the hill.

Taman Ujung (Water Palace)

Taman Ujung "Water Palace" is, with its complete and official designation of Taman Sukasada Ujung,  located in the village of Seraya in Karangasem regency. It is the sister site of Tirta Gangga, also built by the late raja of Karangasem. The complex consists of various large pools and historic structures set against a backdrop of Mount Agung and the eastern shoreline.

The site suffered near devastation by showers of hot ash following the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963, and also weathered an earthquake in 1979. Restoration efforts throughout the decades made way to its current splendour and it continues to appeal to both locals and visitors.

Lempuyang Temple

Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang is a Balinese Hindu Temple or pura located in the slope of Mount Lempuyang Karangasem Bali. Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang is considered as part of a complex of pura surrounding Mount Lempuyang, one of the highly regarded temples of Bali. The temples of Mount Lempuyang, represented by the highest pura at the peak of Mount Lempuyang, Pura Lempuyang is one of the Sad Kahyangan Jagad, or the "six sanctuaries of the world", the six holiest places of worship on Bali.

Lempuyang Temple is a complex of temples that speckles a trail leading to the top of Mount Lempuyang, a holy mountain. At the lowest temple, a fantastic “gateway to heaven” greets visitors. Tirta Gangga

The lavish water gardens owned by the royal Karangasem family feature 1.2 ha of pools, ponds and fountains surrounded by neatly cut lawns adorned with stepping stones, ornate statues and tropical gardens.

The Tirta Gangga royal water garden is a favourite retreat in the regency of Karangasem, east Bali. It was built in 1946 during the reign of the late raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887 – 1966). Tirta Gangga saw a series of restorations following the destructive hot showers of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963.
