MT.BROMO (2.392m) as with mountain scalling anywhere in Asia, it is important to be the top of Gunung Bromo for the impressive sunrise. From Cemara Lawang, it's 3km down the crater wall and across the Sand Sea to the slopes of Bromo, about one hour walk. Alternatively hire a jeep (350,000Rp) or horse (75,000) from Cemara Lawang and it should be fairly light and you'll get fantastic views of the smoking crater and of the sun clearing
