In the village of Sawan, the pentatone sign marks the workshop of Sawan’s gamelan maker. You won’t necessarily find the smith at work every day, but you can try out the various sizes and styles of gamelan instruments, drums and flutes.
On the way to Jagaraga the 4 km road between Sawan and Jagaraga is lined up with mango and rambutan trees, overlooking rice fields in the rainy season and tobacco in the dry, There are energetically carved temples along the road, including Pura Peninjoan temple ,which is guarded by outstandingly ugly monsters.
